discard art at glamox
My job was to design a stairwell of a lighting manufacturer, the Glamox Group in Molde, after the renovation. About 40 meters of wall. And I knew what I wanted to do! There are many containers with metal waste every day. Wonderful, multi-faceted, shiny metal scrap in all sizes! With that one had to start something! I got the order and free hand and so I created a stunning art experience for all employees and customers. Many simply come to look, take photos, or to discuss about materials. The colleagues could not imagine that one can make from scrap so beautiful things.
"That's great!" I have heard this every day during my work on the work of art. I had a rough concept in my mind, a vague idea. It developed on its own independently, came from the head into the hand and on the wall. During my work on the installation, I gave free rein to my imagination, created the forms as they came and joined together. People asked me if I had a sketch or a laser - and were all the more impressive about my creativity. That encouraged me to become even bolder with the motifs. The result is an organically growing figure, which simply begins and ends in an explosion of shapes and parts and colors. |
